YWAM - Youth With A Mission is an international movement of Christians from many denominations. It was founded in 1960, in the United States by Loren Cunningham.

Jim and Pamela Stier iniciated YWAM Brazil in the seventies. It was a difficult start as it is written in the book Against All Odds. There were very few staff, mostly youth, striving to know God and make him known. Since then, the work has spread throughout the country and today there is only one other country in the world that sends out more missionarys than Brazil.

Youth With A Mission brings together different people to work in various evangelistic activities. YWAM works with many Churches across the world. Our missionaries include youth, families, retired people, graduates, new christians, pastors, church leaders with many years of experience, people from different countries and from different denominations. The objectives of the Mission: To present Jesus Christ personally to this generation motivating as many people as possible to help in this task, training and equiping christians to fulfill the great commission and serve through social action known as "Mercy Ministries".

Each year more then 30.000 people take part in our short term missions and training schools. We thank God that our teams have already visited and ministed in all the countries of the world. We currently have more then 15,755 missionaries working full time in 1031 centres in more than 149 countries. YWAM missionaries are either full time or part time volunteers who do not receive any type of payment for their work. Each missionary is responsible to raise their own financial support. This is normally acquired in different ways such as from friends, family, church or in other legal forms.

As citizens of God's kingdom we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord; to love and serve His body, the Church; and to present the whole gospel to the whole person throughout the whole world.

The Bible is God's inspired and authoritative Word. It is the base of our faith and how we live our lives.
